The Top Turnbuckle: Elimination Chamber Preview

February 21, 2021

The Road to Wrestlemania takes it last big stop at the Elimination Chamber on WWE Network tonight. With two top heavy Chamber matches, and having nearly every title defended at the event tonight at 7, we’re slated for a great night of Sport Entertainment inside the Thunderdome. Let’s dive into the matches, expectations, and some theories.

Chamber: Universal Title Qualifying Match

By far the least intriguing of the two matches, but that matches up with Smackdown’s more limited roster. We’ve got King Corbin, Cesaro, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Daniel Bryan, and Jey Uso. Two of my least favorite WWE talents in the entire business are stepping into the ring tonight in Daniel Bryan and King Corbin. These guys are two severely over hyped and not-talented professional wrestlers and I hope to god they don’t ruin this match with their lackluster abilities. The two most likely scenarios is for either KO to win in order to put the Owens vs Reigns feud to bed, or to have Jey Uso win to keep the Uso vs Reigns story line alive. Personally I’d love to see the start of Cesaro-mania, but we will have to wait to see if WWE finally takes advantage of one of the best talents on their roster.

Raw Women’s Championship: Asuka vs Lacey Evans

Is this match even still happening? WWE took a major throwback in some of their storylines when Lacey Evans came out and said that she was pregnant and Ric Flair paraded around like he was the father (gross). Who knows if she’s actually pregnant in and this match is going to be rescheduled but regardless, WWE is not ready to take the belt off of Asuka and if they replace her, Asuka wins, if she fights, Asuka wins. Asuka wins.

United State’s Championship Triple Threat Match: Riddle vs Keith Lee vs Bobby Lashley (C)

I’m so excited for what will probably be most talented match of the entire night. The amount of talent in Keith Lee and Riddle is limitless and we have only have began to tap into it. Riddle’s character flaws is easily hidden with his ring work, and Keith Lee has quickly cemented himself into the best Big Man picture for WWE. Combine that with a freak like Bobby Lashley, and you’ve got one hell of a match. I’m excited to see if WWE finally pulls the trigger on Riddle or Lee and give them their first shot at being a champion.

Universal Championship: Winner of Elimination Chamber vs Roman Reigns

The match is not the important part here. Roman Reigns will walk out as Champion. What’s interesting is how this will setup his opponent for Wrestlemania. I doubt we will see an Edge vs Reigns main event, but the back and forth between them has bee the most electric thing Edge has done since the Royal Rumble. I don’t know who Reigns will be facing but I bet that question will be answered tonight.

WWE Championship: Elimination Chamber Match

The names in this match are perhaps 6 of the top 10 guys in WWE today. Drew McIntyre (C), Kofi Kingston, Randy Orton, AJ Styles, Jeff Hardy, and Sheamus. I can’t imagine them taking the belt off of McIntyre this close to Wrestlemania. I’d expect to see Sheamus and McIntyre the final two and McIntyre getting that final push on the way to the main event vs Edge. Regardless the star power in this match is incredible and could pan out to be an all-time great WWE Match.
