Yes, I know what you’re thinking. You’ve heard this a million times. Some crazy Tennessee fan in some bar screaming in your face about some badass recruit the team got that will come in and instantly change a program from day 1. Maybe that idiot could possibly … be right for once?
Famous. Last. Words.
It’s no secret the past 12 years of Tennessee football has been absolute hell. From firing *Legendary* head coach Phillip Fulmer, to Lane Kiffin leaving in the middle of the night, and of course anything that pertains to Bitch Jones. It has been a nightmare.
Enter Jeremy Pruitt.
The first thing you see in any Twitter thread regarding any Vols success is some asshole bringing up the Georgia State and BYU games in 2019. Rightfully so. I, myself, would also be that asshole if a team like Florida or Georgia lost to a program of that caliber. I was on the field covering both of those games. It SUCKED and I knew we wouldn’t live that down. But, the second half of the season was good with some quality SEC wins and a bowl win to cap it off. Nice ending, with good momentum into the offseason.
Any coach that can rally a team after losses like BYU and Georgia fucking State deserves all the credit. Especially for the seniors, who have been through hell with used car salesman Bitch Jones.
The past two weeks have been a Tennessee fan’s dream. Recruit after recruit is pledging their commitment to Jeremy Pruitt and company. Two five star defensive monsters, Dylan Brooks and Terrence Lewis (depending on what sight you worship) have ignited the flame that once was high-level recruiting that this school rightfully deserves.
18 commits and the #2 ranked class, according to Rivals.
Not bad.
Even UT’s Director of social media content tweeted out they’ve run out of graphics to send out in celebration. This is madness.
And it’s only the beginning/
Look, I know. It’s only May. Signing day is a looonngggggg ways out and there still is a season to play (hopefully). But what Jeremy Pruitt is doing right now during a quarantine is unbelievable. Come fall or spring or whenever football starts, you have to win or these recruits will fall back to other programs like Clemson, LSU, Auburn, Georgia, etc.
Just. win.
