Let me just set the stage for you. It’s Christmas Day 2010. You’re 13 years old. You’re just kinda becoming a human being. You wake up at 8AM and go wake up the rents. You go downstairs and open up your brand new Rock Band 3 game. You go through your stocking, eat some candy, drink some hot chocolate. You play Xbox all morning until your mom makes you come eat lunch and your dad puts the tv on ABC. You don’t really understand what’s going on but you know this Derrick Rose guy on the Bulls is really good. You stay and watch this game. Then the next game has Dwight Howard and how could you not watch Superman as a 13 year old? The game goes on and finally, the moment all the commercials have been building to. The game that you’ve totally abandoned Rock Band to watch. Heat. Lakers. LeBron. Kobe. Literally does not get better than that. Relive it as best you can today. Let’s settle in today and have a great time watching some basketball with the fam. If you want a little extra Christmas money then roll with this parlayyyyyy.
1. MIAMI HEAT (-3) VS PELICANS
The Heat have like literally everyone back from the Finals last year. They also still have the best coach in the NBA. I do love the pelicans (maybe a little ML hedge here) but I think JBut and the Heatles cover this 3 to start the day out.
2. GS WARRIORS (+10.5) vs MILWAUKEE
Bounce back spot for the Warriors. Yes the bucks lost on night one as well, but the Warriors got obliterated. That’s what happens when you start out with the new look nets. Warriors still have a good roster and the Bucks still have literally only Giannis. Do not try and tell me Kris Middleton is a difference maker. Steve Kerr is also an incredible coach. Take the star power of Steph and Draymond here over Giannis. All they gotta do is not get blown out 🤞
3. BROOKLYN NETS (ML -155) VS BOSTON CELTICS
I mean it’s the Nets. They beat the Warriors by 100 the other day. And yes the Celtics beat the Bucks but like are the Bucks even good? Nets just gotta win. I’m taking KD and Kyrie over Tatum and Jaylen Brown all day.
4. LAAAAAAAKERS (ML -250) vs DALLAS MAVS
Very hard to bet against the fighting Luka’s today but the Lakers steamroll them here. They had a little championship hangover night one but not today. They still have LeBron (albeit a little hobbled today) and AD. They have a great support staff. Dallas is still just one piece away in my opinion and I think the Lakers win this easy.
5. CLIPPERS (ML -150) VS NUGGYS
Similarly to betting against Luke today it makes me sick to bet against Jokic. Clippers gotta avenge their playoff loss from last year though. They looked really good on opening night against the Lakers too. Paul George seemingly doesn’t suck at basketball anymore which is big for him. Clippers roll here.
Take the unders in the first 3 games and in the late game. Take the over in the Lakers game. Just good math. Merry Christmas everyone!
